My necro spent an age in this zone 65-70 because it was so good for AAxp and vendor drops. This was before it was hotzoned for even better xp
May I ask you if you did this with kiting or pet-tanking? I have been at BR with my nec now for soem time, dinged 59 last night but in The Steppes. I moved out of BR since the bears/pumas/snakes wasn't taht great anymore. I tried moving to the harpies but always ended up with adds or got jumped when trying to kite there. And even with healer merc the pet had trouble tanking one, even worse if a add jumped in. I think I will stay in The Stepps untill 65 and maybe then go back and give BR another go since I keep hearing about the fab aaxp that is given there, just need to figure out how to get them :)
I seldom pet tank --thinking back 1-77 (where my necro presently sits) I almost never bother... but I tended to lean on the rogue pet vs. warrior anyways (always seemed to sit at a level where the rogue was the higher level pet available to me).
The last place I tap-tanked (that's the necro tanking with the pet just assisting for dps) for xp was Halls of Honor as a hotzone, they were lb and I could mow them easily with a healer merc out. I might of been level 70 for that though.
Blackfeather Roost I kite 40s-75 (though best under 71 in my experience). Aggro kiting works wonders in here. As far as the harpies go, the 2nd harpy island with the nobles is much easier to kite without adds as you can work from the perimeter without to much wander on top of you.
My druid on vox has been root rotting (slow) in Blackfeather Roost and letting a merc tank kill (pretty fast) since early 40s --pretty sure I'm at 55 on that character now so that's 15 levels in the Roost.
Having said all that... if you can handle the Steppes it is fine too (also a hotzone). Personally I find mob behaviour, adds and such more of a hassle there, though I have spent a fair bit of time killing various animals in the south end of the zone, as well as earth elementals.
At 59 you have a couple of good older options: the murkgliders in Noble's Causeway and the fiend camp in Plane of Valor. These two camps are probably very open and are great if you want to stop somewhere before 65 and pile on a few AA.
