Station Game PassesFollow

I've been purchasing monthly EQ (well SoE) game passes at the local Game Stop store. I saw they can also be purchased on Amazon, but then are mailed to the purchaser. Does anyone know of a place to purchase a game pass online that can be purchased immediately?

Orrrr...I could just drive a 2 miles and buy one. lol

I don't want to do that because I play sporadically and then I have to remember to cancel when I want to stop. When I played regularly back in the day, I had an account like that set up with SoE.

Many people, including me, have been buying the game cards at Wal-Mart. They come with 500 bonus station cash. So you get your monthly sub taken care of AND get 500 SC. And during times of double station cash, the bonus does, in fact, get doubled to give you 1000.

We figure we're going to pay $15 anywhere we buy it, but Wal-Mart gives us the SC. I wish it were GameStop instead of Wal-Mart, but what can you do?

Ooooo thank you, GreenShag :) The Game Stop store is in the same center as our local WalMart! I didn't even think to go there because, of all the places that sell prepaid cards of every type, I couldn't find SoE ones anywhere! Is it a WalMart version of the SoE game pass? (Just asking due to the 500 SC. Great bonus!)

I have no experience with game cards but wanted to add something anyway:

After a friend of mine had his account hacked (trojan keylogger, of course), they used the attached credit card to purchase all kinds of premium services before transferring all the assets of his characters to someone in *some goldselling country*. After much anguish and effort, the account, characters, and assets were all recovered and restored. It's part of life these days in MMOs but there is an interesting lesson here. Even if you subscribe on a recurring subscription plan with a credit card, you are better protected if you enter your subscription term, let it charge your card, then delete the credit card (edit: as a payment source, not the card itself) and cancel your "recurring" subscription immediately. Your subscription will last the full term you paid for, your credit card is not stored and can't be used or obtained by hackers. When your term expires, it is pretty simple to enter your card info in again and resubscribe if you wish to.

That's good to know, Samatman. Another reason I don't like my credit card on file with any online game or world. I never thought about your method.

Update - Mosied over to Walmart this morning. (Still have a ton of things to buy for new apt. as well.) I was looking for the game pass near the registers with all the other gift cards, until it dawned on me they are probably back where the computer games are. Went back to that area and asked one of the employees where I could find the Everquest Station Game Passes. This "associate" said "We don't have ones for Everquest." (Hmmmmm.) I said, "Well, it works for all the Sony games." Response: "We have game passes for the Playstation version of EQ." She then said "All our game cards are over there," waved in some vague direction and wandered off.

I was muttering darkly about going to the only Walmart that doesn't carry EQ Station Passes, but found the game cards and decided to look anyway. Lo and behold...there it was, plus the bonus 500 SC just like GreenShag said. I went back to the oh-so-helpful employee to tell her there were indeed EQ game cards and to show her what one looked like for someone else who might ask. She didn't even look at it...or me....she was too busy chatting with another employee. *Shakes head*

BUT...I got my card! Woot!!!!! Thank you again, GreenShag!!

Check Amazon again. Usually they will e-mail you the code, not snail mail you an actual card.

Ah ok, was wondering about that.

Now that I've found the card at Walmart's WITH 500 bonus SC...I'll get the card there...but good to know I might be able to get the code immediately online from Amazon.

To add to this question, does anyone know if it's possible to use SOE Game cards to purchase all access? If so how do you manage the price difference?

My guess is no. My reasoning is that on the game pass it says something to the effect of "good for 1500 SC or 30-Day game play" and then lists all the SoE games for which it can be used. When I go to my account on SoE and enter the game pass code, it asks if I want SC or 30 days of game play. I select the 30 days, then it asks which game (or it asks that first). Nothing on the card or in the redemption process mentions the all access option.
