Wonderful story  2009-09-03 15:38:44

By Pikko

I had to read this back in college for History and it was so heartbreaking. It tells the story of a girl in China who has her feet bound in the ancient Chinese tradition, which left Chinese women without the ability to walk at more than a snail's pace, leaving them disabled all for the sake of a sick fetish that the men had with tiny feet. Reading about the process as the character goes through it is fascinating, disgusting, and heartbreaking all at once.
