Description

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger.Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

Courtship and falling in love is always fun to read about and I think that's what draws so many women of all ages to Twilight. In this book, Edward is mysterious, handsome, sincere, old-fashioned, and completely in love with Bella. Bella feels completely dull compared to him, a feeling that many teenage girls go through while becoming a woman. The little details that are put into their courtship are fun and bring back a lot of memories of all the small things that mean so much as a teen and lose meaning later in life. From a single touch to a first kiss, it brings you back to your youth. Meyer's characters and storyline also makes undying love, so rare and complicated, possible for Bella and therefore makes her much more interesting. There are faults to the book though. Meyer's writing here is woefully redundant at times. Her overuse of the words "sigh" and "groan" make me do the same throughout the book. Still, the characters and the feelings they bring back are well worth it.
