I really don't see myself needing to micro my skills to the point it'd be an issue. You only ever used a handful of skills in D2 anyway, they are just handing them all to you so you can see what you like and then use them. At low level most of the slots are locked but from what I gathered from a friend who was in the F&F and watching Lore, was that they open at a decent rate. Just looking at the current skills on the wiki I can see myself using 2-3 slots for offense, 1-2 for defense/movement, and 1-2 for support. I'm sure they'll be times I'll need something and have to run out of the room to switch to it, but barb and wiz seem to be the only ones that'd even get near it being a pain.

Be honest, who ever spent a point in a skill just to try it except on their first attempt at a class? You got a guy to 30, tried everything, then rerolled once you learned what was the best. Until they added synergies you hoarded points so you didn't have to waste them on low tier abilities, you only invested a single point in a skill because you had to move down the tree.

Okey, I am a little mad. *shakes fist*

But at least you got in so i can now get an actual opinion on what Blizzard has released so far, as if i really needed that to already know this game is going to Rock my boxers. :)

Instead of watching videos of a tester play-thru and Skeleton King Speed-kills. D:

Hopefully I'll get in during a later phase or during the promo's (if they have any)


P.S. Do you plan on playing this once it Officially launches or are you more leaning towards SWTOR or GW2 as a long-term game? or is "commitment" even within the ADHD-gamer vocabulary? ;P

Yeah wow, about switching out the skills via the skill UI, that is pretty troubling; i honestly can't see myself playing a Sorceress(Wizard) like i did back in D2 in Hell mode without having the ability to change out my skills on the fly and keep moving, because essentially; that's what a lot of us were doing, especially the Sorceress and the Hammerdin, like you said it's just nonsense to have to sit there and go through the UI to switch, I don't even think later stages of Normal mode in this game will really let you get away with such sluggish game-play, assuming things only get challenging as you progress.

I don't even want to image how this type of game-play mechanic will affect Nightmare and Hell modes. *cringes*

Great video as always but if D3 is anything like D2 in skill usage you will only use like 2-3 skills and you have a action bar wich you can map 5 skills to and left/right click that would be 7 skills. I remeber from D2 that when I played Necro I had like 6 or 7 skills I used and that was 4 summoning, 1-2 curse depending on spec and one attack spell again depending on specc. So I dont really see a problem but that is if D3 is anything like D2 in skill way.

Something I find quite sad is that they removed stats and skill trees becouse that was, for me anyway, one of the most fun things since you needed to think ahead before spending your points and not just spend them on what sounds cool at the moment but it also removes some of the character development that D2 had. But I havent been keeping myself up to date on changes and stuff, to lazy for that :), but it seems like blizzard has dumbed the game down a bit and made it more forgiving, I mean in D2 if you put one skill point wrong you could ruin your whole character and needed to start over now it seems like you cant ruin your character becouse you didnt plan ahead.

Fony, awesome video as usual. I loved Diablo 2 and I cannot wait for 3. I really hope they fix that issue, it would drive me nuts. The good news is, Blizzard is usually good about dealing with issue that we the gamers complain about, let's hope they continue that with this. Keep up the good videos man!
