Episode 39 - MineCraft (Alpha)Most of the time when games go to open beta, the NDA takes a walk. Unfortunately, this was not the case this week with Square Enix's latest release, Final Fantasy XIV. As a last minute request, and with the assistance from a fan, Mike B was able to jump into the latest buzz-worthy game, MineCraft. Episode 38 - Vindictus (Beta)Let's take Fable, strip down all the RP open-world nonsense and replace it with everything we've learned from the past 17 'Street Fighter II' games. Then sprinkle in some MMO elements, some glow, and make it fit the lore of Nexon's ongoing MMO series, "Mabinogi" but call it VINDICTUS...in the U.S. If you read that with any negative connotation, you may be surprised at just how well this product has come together thus far...
Episode 37 - City of Heroes: Going RogueIn case you didn't know, Mike B looks great in exo-brief leotards. Coincidentally, this week's BFF Report covers Going Rogue, the new expansion for City of Heroes! This expansion introduces you to the mirror universe of Praetoria, where the bad guys wear badges and the good guys are junkies. Not sure how this differs from IRL, but we can suspend disbelief in exchange for some superhero action.
Episode 36 - WoW Cataclysm: GoblinsSimilar to it's Alliance counterpart, the Goblin starting experience is completely unique to anything experienced thus far in virtually any MMO. Volcanoes, rockets, giant robot chickens, bank heists, pool parties, oh.. and lots of spoilers!
Episode 35 - WoW Cataclysm: WorgensIn this episode of the BFF Report, Mike B aka Fony does his absolute best to avoid dropping any cheesy Twilight lines, while delivering a questionably thorough walkthrough of the Worgen starting zone! Be advised, this episode is packed with quest reveals, plot spoilers, and... is that Sundae?
Episode 34 - OnLiveCloud gaming? LOLwut? That's right peeps, bust out that old laptop because the folks over at OnLive have just turned it into a fully capable gaming machine, wired of course. But wait, isn't this supposed to be the FUTURE of gaming? Are we there already?!
Episode 33 - WoW: The n00b ExperienceA standard episode of the BFF Report is typically composed of various new user experiences accompanied by cleverly delivered commentary from our extremely attractive host, Mike B aka Fony aka Prometheus ;(can you tell who wrote this?) For this week's assignment, Fony must cater to the 7 people who have never played World of Warcaft, and give them the best introduction, BFF style, to the genre's most successful game.
