Witcher 3's 'Blood and Wine' expansion sure looks colorful
What is it with pairing European Medieval fantasy with hard rock? Do I have to go back to Heath Ledger's A Knight's Tale to pin the blame on somebody?
Anyway, music selection aside, the above launch trailer for Witcher 3's upcoming expansion certainly is gorgeous to look at. Set in the Southern kingdom of Toussaint, "Blood and Wine" is no mere add-on: it adds a brand new region to the game with a reported 90 new quests and more deadly critters than you can shake a stick at. It also boosts the New Game+ level cap to 100, so you can Geralt even harder, if you wish. In all, the "Blood and Wine" is expected to come in at around 30 hours of play time.
This expansion also represents a final send-off for The Witcher, as CD Projekt Red transitions onto other properties (especially the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077). The studio may revisit the franchise down the road, but for now, this is Geralt of Rivera's last hurrah.
Witcher 3's "Blood and Wine" expansion launches on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on May 31st. It will retail for $19.99. Some more images follow below.
