The latest brawler to join Street Fighter V is Guile

The series mainstay with his characteristic flat top is joining the Street Fighter V roster later this month.

Man, I just don't know about Street Fighter V. Whenever I see still screenshots, it looks too garish. But watching it in motion, it's hypnotic. The oversaturated colors just work for it.

One thing that isn't up for debate, though, is that the fashion here is... questionable, at best. I was already struggling to come to grips with banana sideburns man, but Guile's distinctive flat top just looks like it got squished here.

Anyway, Guile -- whose theme, as we know, goes with anything -- is a Street Fighter mainstay with a good repertoire of both ground and air attacks. Street Fighter V offers a new V-Trigger variant of his Sonic Boom skill, Solid Puncher, which allows you to deliver a sequence of Sonic Booms at different speeds. "This can act as a great combo extender, be used to overwhelm opponents or easily push his opponents to the corner," Capcom Unity explains in its reveal post.

Guile will be joining the roster as part of Street Fighter V's April update, the exact date of which is not yet set. This update also promises an official new system for dealing with rage quitters, something Capcom has addressed through more ad hoc means up until now.

Below, some more screens of Guile, and his hair, which perhaps should be listed as a separate character.
